Brenda has been a cardiovascular nurse for 30 years. She has been focused on the field of prevention through early risk detection and education. She has created medical practice prevention clinics and Family Heart Disease Screening Clinics.

After 9/11, she and her husband, Dr. Robert Superko initiated the FEMA Heart Disease Prevention Study in Firefighters while working in Atlanta Georgia. The study was completed in 300 of the Gwinnett County Firefighters. This study included genetic testing, advanced lipid testing and multiple vascular imaging tests. Results and recommendations from this study have been advocated by Brenda and Robert in not only publications, but also development of Firefighter Heart Health Screenings and education.

Brenda is currently the Director of the Selectwell Firefighter Health Program. She advocates for Firefighters to be screened early and informed of their risk for both Heart Disease as well as for Cancer.
