VFIS of North Carolina is the leading provider of insurance for non-profit emergency service organizations, including volunteer fire departments (firefighters), ambulance and rescue squads (paramedics & EMTs) in the state of North Carolina. VFIS, based in York, PA, developed the first insurance program for Emergency Service Organizations in 1969. VFIS of North Carolina became the North Carolina Regional Director for the VFIS program in 1984. By working together, VFIS and VFIS of North Carolina now insure over 1500 non-profit Emergency Service Organizations in North Carolina and continue to provide the broadest coverage and best customer service in the state for over 30 years. VFIS of North Carolina supports many Emergency Service Organizations, including the North Carolina State Firemen's Association, Fire Marshals' Association of North Carolina, North Carolina Fire Chiefs Association, North Carolina Association of Rescue and EMS and many district and regional groups. We are also active in the North Carolina Legislature to help the Emergency Service community with legislation to help their cause and livelihood, as well as increased funding.

The All Clear coffee blend was developed with the cardinal purpose of helping firefighters through increasing awareness, education, and research into health and wellness. The proceeds from each bag of the All Clear blend are used to support the North Carolina Firefighter Cancer Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to this purpose. 

Firefighting-related illnesses, such as multiple types of cancers, heart disease, post-traumatic stress, and depression are the predominant side effects of a career in emergency services, with the rates of people affected higher than most other professions.
